Nil Yalter's installation titled AmbassaDRESS is on view in the exhibition Sans Contrefaçon — Anatomie d'un vêtement at the Frac-Artothèque Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Curated by Marienne Derrien, the exhibition runs until October 31, 2026.
Composed of a 1928 Lanvin haute couture dress, a single-channel video, photographs, and drawings, AmbassaDRESS draws on archival material to intertwine fact and fiction. Through the story of an ambassador's wife in Nazi Germany, Yalter examines the relationships between clothing, power, privilege, and historical violence, revealing the dress as both a political object and a witness to history.
