GROUP EXHIBITION | THINGS ARE WANDERING, MOMA, NEW YORK

Works from Hüseyin Bahri Alptekin’s H-Factor: Hospitality/Hostility series, part of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) collection, are currently on view in Things are Wandering, the 1980–Present section of the museum’s collection exhibition on the second floor. “Things are wandering, their meanings change,” critic Sabine Vogel wrote in response to the work of Alptekin included in the exhibition. Alptekin and the other artists on view looked to wandering things – whether market wares, means of border crossing, or the place names on hotel signs – to register the effects of the new global order of the 1990s and 2000s.
