Merve İşeri at A.R.C. x GALERIST

Merve İşeri was in Cappadocia between June and July 2026 as the first resident of the collaboration between Galerist and A.R.C. (A Residence of Creation). During the residency, she explored the relationships between the region’s geological formations, traces across the landscape, sounds, and local modes of production. Working with sound, video, organic surfaces, and mineral pigments, İşeri studied the making of ceramic percussion instruments at Toprağın Sesi, a ceramics studio in Avanos, while also recording field sounds and drone footage in the valleys and around the region’s rock formations. The process that began in Cappadocia continues through the production of video, sound, and drawing works.
