Monday - Saturday: 11.00 - 19.00
Şahin Kaygun's artwork titled Self-Portrait of the Photographer is on view as part of the group exhibition titled I Need More Time at Arter, until March 8, 2025.
Bringing together works by 19 artists from Türkiye and across the world, the group exhibition I Need More Time focuses on photography’s shifting modes of expression by exploring the medium’s potentials and operative conditions. Drawing on the new forms and potentials of lens-based practices, the exhibition proposes a polyphonic approach that resists rapid production cycles, fixed representational norms, and technical determinism. The works on view reveal the gestures embedded in their production processes, the tools employed, as well as the possible transformations occurring across surface and time, thus opening up photography to critical inquiry not only as a representational medium but also in its material and conceptual dimensions.
I Need More Time explores photography’s present-day context by positioning it as an intuitive and fluid form of expression shaped by individual perspectives.
