Lara Ögel’s artworks are on view at Hara until July 26, as part of the group exhibition titled The Promises of Monsters, curated by Ezgi Hamzaçebi. The exhibition brings together ten artists who explore the representations of human and non-human bodies and ways of being deemed “monstrous”.
Spanning site-specific sculpture, installation, photography and video, the works in the exhibition approach bodies and identities not as fixed categories, but as suspended, liminal states. The boundaries between human and non-human, living and non-living, natural and artificial, functional and discarded, visible and suppressed constantly shift, dissolve, or blur in these works.
