Telgeren begins her drawings without preliminary sketches, wandering through the landscapes of her mind in search of
familiar imagery. Gradually, the lines evoke people or places. In ‘Morning Gaze’, a passage formed by the flowing of hair
creates a hollow reminiscent of an eye – a window to a drowsy gaze. Her grandmother’s hair, the view of the lake from her
garden terrace, a horizon lost in mist, and the refreshing courage of the morning air are among the artist’s guiding memories
and emotions for this work.
