Galerist, founded in 2001, is a leading force in Turkey’s contemporary art scene. The gallery is renowned for championing the country’s most innovative artists and preserving the estates of its pioneers. It strives to be a vital conduit between the local art scene and the global community. Galerist attaches importance to equal gender representation in the visibility it provides through its represented artists and exhibitions. The gallery’s roaster portrays this equal representation as well as the vast array of careers the gallery encompasses.
Since 2011, Galerist has been headquartered in Passage Petits-Champs in Pera, an iconic 19th century landmark in Istanbul. Its 250-square-metre exhibition space serves as a dynamic platform for solo and group exhibitions, while its collaborative ethos drives curatorial partnerships with prominent institutions and galleries worldwide.
Galerist also actively engages in the global art market, regularly participating in prestigious fairs such as The Armory Show, Abu Dhabi Art, Frieze, and ARCOmadrid among many others.
Founded in 2006 by Galerist with the mission of supporting Turkey’s growing art scene, Art Unlimited magazine has established itself as one of the country’s leading culture and arts publications. Since 2015, it has continued its publishing life under the name Unlimited Publications, maintaining its independent stance. Among the books published by Galerist Publications are Distilled From Scattered Blue (2025), Yusuf Sevinçli: Tumult (2024), Elif Uras Monograph (2018), Yusuf Sevinçli: Oculus (2018), Semiha Berksoy Catalogue Raisonné (2017), Nil Yalter Monograph (2013), Taner Ceylan: 1997-2009 (2011), Haluk Akakçe: Reincarnation (2009) and Leyla Gediz Monograph (2008).
