We are proud to announce the upcoming major retrospective exhibition of Semiha Berksoy curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Felrath at Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin.
Berksoy’s largest retrospective in Germany to date, taking place from December 6, 2024 to May 11, 2025, the exhibition covers more than six decades of her work, and is presented within an operatic environment that highlights the versatile nature of her practice. A leading soprano in 1930’s Berlin, Semiha Berksoy (1910–2004) was forced to return to Istanbul after the outbreak of WWII in 1939.
